The veggie burger was tasty and fresh. It came with greasy, delicious fries. I read about some people who had bad experiences with online ordering. I had no issues. It told me my order would arrive at 12:45 and it arrived at 12:22. No complaints.

So yummy!!! Loved all the options and originality! Glorified carnival food; what a great idea.

First off the people here are so incredibly nice that just that in itself makes me want to come back. The burgers were perfectly cooked with melty cheese and crispy bacon and the sweet potatoes fries with there sauce is so good I was full but I still couldn't stop eating them. I would highly recommend this place to any one who is looking for good American food.

Don't do it! I at a burger from there today and my stomach feels like a freak is inside there doing gymnastics! Something was not right with my burger for sure.

In a what has become a world of "gastropubs" and hoity-toity burger joints that like to throw a slab of Foie Gras on a burger and call it "gourmet" it's refreshing to find a place that just revels in good food. The Burger Freak is a tiny little burger shack nestled in the corner of non-descript strip mall in North Oakland Park. It's so non-descript that it took two tries to find it, I almost went to Chili's. Boy, am I glad I didn't. From the outside it looks a little shady, inside its not that much of a beauty. There is a small window ledge counter and a few tiny bistro tables with cheap folding chairs. Décor leans toward sideshow chic meets college dorm. Of course, one doesn't come here for a romantic dinner, you want some grub. And grub you shall have, in abundance. The menu swings from simple basic burgers and dogs, to more adventurous offerings most for under $10. On this our first outing we decided to play it safe. I had the Bleu Cyclops Burger with a small side of fires, my dining companion went with a pair of dogs: Da Chicago and the New Yorker. It should be noted that The Burger Freak is a counter service restaurant, there is no pretention, in fact everything is served in a brown paper bag and waxed paper. It kind of reminds me of the local burger dive I went to growing up, SCORE! The Bleu Cyclops is their take on a bacon bleu cheese burger. Very simple with a good handful of crispy bacon crumbles, a healthy dose of bleu cheese and topped with a somewhat spicy jalapeno ranch sauce. All atop a buttery brioche bun. Well the burger was good, really good. It was juicy, messy, and just what a burger should be. The small side of fries were extremely crispy and flavorful. If this was a small side I would hate to see large one. It was a mound of fries larger than the burger itself! Let's be honest a hot bog on a bun really is just a vehicle for luscious toppings. Of course you want a good bun and a tasty dog, but if the toppings fall flat the whole thing goes to the dog house (I'm looking at you, unnamed hot dog stand on Sunrise). A Chicago Dog is topped with hot peppers and the pepper relish and this one was spot on! Reminded me of the Wrigley Field. Speaking of traveling, we must have jumped over to Lincoln Center because the New York dog was dripping with caramelized onions and sauerkraut . To use a baseball-ism, these were both out of the park home runs. The Beer Battered Onion Rings were perhaps the best we've tasted in a long time. Both the fries and the rings were served with what was called Freak Sauce. Not sure what it was, but it was freakishly addictive. As if all this wasn't enough, we had to try the Fried Oreos, hush - I went to the gym after. These little Oreo stuffed beignets are downright addictive. I love Oreos, but this may have made them better (thank you State Fair of Texas for introducing this little idea to the world). Dusted with a generous dose of powdered sugar thankfully they only come 3 to an order. The Burger Freak isn't pretty, it doesn't have 50 beers on tap it doesn't have the Las Olas glitterati, but what it does have is a damn good burger and a VERY friendly staff all for what you would what you would pay at the golden arches. Repeat after me: It's good to be a freak

This a pretty damn good burger tucked away in a sketchy strip mall location. Truth be told, I used to live over there and they had a good pizza joint next door so....despite the sketchiness - you can get a damn good burger. You definitely want to take these home :) I had the Freakshow. Phenomenal. I wish they wouldn't have forgotten the marshmallow cinnamon for the sweet potato fries cause THAT woulda been awesome. Staff is great. Location is sketchy. Burgers are good.

I've seen this place while driving to and from work and figured I should check it out at some point. Checked out a list of top burger spots in broward and this place came up. Hate to say we were disappointed, this review is based ok only this 1 visit and if I do come back will review it based on the next visit. Burger wasnt that good, egg was over cooked and the meat I felt like I could taste whatever powder they threw on the top. Fried mac and cheese was bland. I ordered the fried oreo but was too full to eat them. Now the sweet potato fries were good. And the marshmallow with cinnamon was damn good. This is where I got full cause I didn't stop eating them. Didn't have the best experience here but they have great reviews and I see them on the top burger spots to check out. I'll check them out again.

Okay, I'm changing my review and knocking this down to two stars. I saw another reviewer say that their trip to Burger Freak gave them some mild food poisoning. It's hit me too. Look at my picture of my burger. It's mighty pink. I haven't eaten since my trip to Burger Freak and my stomach has been messed up ever since. Not to go TMI, but I've had the shakes and I don't wander too far from the bathroom. My wife has had a consistent bout with light nausea starting the day after our visit there too. It's a shame, too, because that was a damn tasty burger. My original review: Yeah, the place is a little hole-in-the-wall joint, but that belies the fact that this place has great eats! I had the Fortune Teller, one of the best burgers I've had in a while. I usually avoid bacon on a burger because most don't get the crispness right for a burger. The bacon on my burger was perfect! The flavors came together in a way I'm not used to in a burger. I wouldn't change a thing there. I don't think I stopped to bite the fries more than once while I had the burger in my hand. The only thing keeping me from giving them five stars is the storefront place itself. It's tiny, and though interesting, didn't appeal to my wife to actually sit and eat there. We got our food to go, and we saw that they do deliver. If I'm ever in the area again, I'll definitely call for a delivery or stop by for another bag.

This is a tiny little place in an industrial area but don't be afraid. The food is good! The menu items are all circus themed names. Everything on the menu looked good but when I saw bacon and eggs in one of the burgers, I knew I didn't have to read further. You can pick from beef, turkey, Chicken breast, or veggie patty for any of the burgers and you get to pick the bread. Or you can have it in a wrap or lettuce. The fries and sweet potato fries are very good. The sweet potato fries are served with a sweet dipping sauce which is perfect with the thick cut sweet potato fries. I ordered a small but it was huge. I also ordered a single burger and it was also huge! They have hotdogs including the Columbian one that I love and fries Oreos and fried twinkies! They have a food challenge where you have to eat 3 double burgers of your choice from the menu along with fries and a drink in an hour. There's a wall of shame with pictures of people who have failed. 3 people have succeeded and wouldn't you know it? A skinny ass little girl finished it in 22 minutes. Impressive!

Located between a pawn shop and a pizza joint in a rather creepy run down disheveled looking corner strip mall you'll find The Burger Freak. I say creepy, because the crowd attracted to the adjacent pawn shop doesn't appear to be composed of the most savory of individuals. While I was checking out the area, one individual offer to sell me "party favors," which I am sure were not of the type one might find at your local Party City store and another offered to sell me a watch which if it weren't too hot to pawn, at a cash price amounting to less than 20% of its actual value. I might also add, if I recall correctly, that this area has a rather checkered past with one location previously having been the Manhattan Lounge, a less than fun gay bar catering to the elderly queens of Palm Aire and later home of the Black Banana, a gay rap bar of a rather seedy reputation for fights, drugs and late hour 911 calls. Others have described The Burger Freak as having a carnival atmosphere but I would contend more like a freak sideshow from which I think it obviously derives its name. It's small, hole in the wall like, sort of disorderly, loud rock music, a totally unprofessional waitress or clerk with a grungy appearing floor and order counter. The menu, of which they hand out free copies, however is delightfully inspiring and innovative. The burgers all seem to be named after sideshow freaks such as "Bearded Women," "Wolf Man," "Spider Lady," and so forth. But, the real key to it all isn't in the whimsical names, more in the creative ingredients such as jalapeno ranch dressing, pesto mayo, a "Signature Freak Sauce," sundried tomato, jerk mayo, a "Pineapple Puree," and "Garlic Mojo Aioli" just to name a few. I ordered their "Blue Cyclops," a burger composed of crumbled blue fromage cheese (also known as fromage frias or fromage blanc), bacon, jalapeno ranch dressing, lettuce, a slice of tomato and some red onions in a honey wheat bread bun. I ordered it rare (I enjoy the sight of blood....one of my inherent perversities), but it came out medium. However, since the meat patty was so thin, it probably couldn't realistically be done any other way. But, putting aside the lack of good meat, the overall flavor and taste was really good; on that count I couldn't have asked for better. I'd like to go four stars on The Burger Freak, and I could do that except for the lack of more meat to the burger, the inability to get meat done as ordered, the rather unprofessional service of the waitress, the ungodly loud background music, the grungy looking floor, the unkempt disarray of the ordering counter and questionable if not totally creepy location of the establishment. But, since the taste was so good and the offerings so innovative, creative and inspiring, a solid Three Stars Plus and a place to which I won't hesitate to return.

This place is a MUST TRY! I had the single "Fortune Teller" burger which is topped with your basic lettuce, tomato, bacon and American cheese but then they slap on some kind of pesto mayo and a fried egg...and O...M...G! One of the BEST burgers I've had in a whle! Along with my burger I had a small order of the natural cust fries which were pretty tasy too! They have some kind of seasoning blend on them for extra flavor. To finish off my meal, 3 FRIED OREOS!!! I got my food to go and it was pretty quick service. The location isn'tthe best looking place but they make up for it with the food. I would have gave it 5 stars...but they forgot to put my fries in the bag! Luckily I checked before I pulled off the lot! GO TRY IT!!!!

After seeing The Burger Freak on Yelp with a solid 4.5 star rating, I had to check it out. So I convinced my girlfriend to try this place with me after work the other day. After looking at reviews and photos for approximately 2 full days I decided to try The Bearded Woman. Of course I had to get the double burger after salivating over the pictures all day. It came with avocado, sprouts, lettuce, tangy honey mustard and tomato. I'm not a big fan of tomato so I had them take that out. The sauce was awesome and the avocado added the perfect texture to this burger. The only thing that I didn't like about the burger was that it was pretty well done. Now, I realize that these fast-food style places don't necessarily cook burgers to order. But, I wish that they did. Having an option for medium-rare is the only way for this yelper to give a genuine 5 star review. The atmosphere in the place was interesting. It's obviously freak show themed. I like how they incorporate the theme into everything there. The only thing that didn't fall into their theme was the music. They were blasting R&B slow jams, which was... interesting.... On the other hand, the service was great and the staff was very friendly! I need to come back to try their fried Oreo's. I'm getting hungry simply thinking about that prospect. So needless to say, you'll see me check in here again some time in the future.

Decent drive again lol and in a hole in the wall plaza but aren't all the good ones lol. Near a pizza shop gotta try them lol. Cons canned soda and Coke products again lol Jeezus Christ Started with Fried Mac and Cheese not bad but tasted generic. They do however deep fry alot so I believe it's fresh and not frozen. Burger was really good I got Ruth The Acrobat garlic mojo aioli, swiss, crispy bacon, lettuce & tomato great taste. I have been here several times all worth it and I will be back again

Decided to eat at The Burger Freak after a co-worker's recommendation. We ordered lunch via their online portal in order to save time and gave it a 15 minute buffer before heading out, in hopes that the order would be ready by the time we arrived. Upon arriving, the employees were unable to locate my order and we were forced to re-order on the spot and wait. Fine. I ordered the double and added bacon, jalapeños, pepper jack cheese and mushrooms. After an additional 10-15 minutes, the order was up and we decided to just eat there. I can't say the burger wasn't good - it was - but it was extremely greasy, definitely not for the faint of heart. That would've been ok for a occasional visit, but as I type this, I am on day 2 of what I consider mild food poisoning. Granted, I ordered the burger medium rare, this doesn't happen at other spots. Because of the aforementioned, I would be very uneasy about going back and probably won't. The plaza in which it's located is definitely shady (at 12:15 PM, mind you), as others have mentioned, but that isn't really a deterrent for me. The runs, cold chills, constant headache and stomach cramps, however, are.

The Burger Freak has been on my radar forever, and when my coworker asked if we could do burgers for lunch I suggested we try Burger Freak. I studied the menu for a few hours that morning really trying my hardest to decide between 5 options and finally narrowed it down to The Spider Lady. I went with a traditional beef patty (there are other options for the veg crowd) and had it over lettuce. Honestly, a burger without a bun just isn't the same and I know that, but I'm trying my hardest to avoid carbs. The "over lettuce" option was actually quite nice and was actual iceberg leaves not a salad so ideally I could have made some sort of lettuce bun/wrap. Since I was eating with company I decided to go the polite fork and knife way lol. The food came out quickly so that was a plus. As far as seating goes, it's limited. I counted a total of 10 chairs and even that would be tight. Most people here do take-out and bring it back to their office for lunch. I'd highly suggest that option. There are a lot of unique burger options here so I'm looking forward to trying more of the other options!

Burger Freak is very close to where I work, so I'm surprised it took me this long to try it out, but if I ate out every day I would be huge and broke, so I must pace myself. I had a very hard time deciding. Their menu consists of probably 15 gourmet burgers, and then you also have the option of creating your own burger from all their toppings and sauces. On top of that you can pick beef, turkey, chicken, or veggies burger and well as what type of bun/wrap. They also have salads and hot dogs. They have a circus theme going here which will be very obvious when you walk inside, it's a fun decor. I ended up choosing the tattooed lady burger with a beef patty and brioche bun. It had provolone, bacon, caramelized onions and I sundried tomato aioli along with lettuce and tomato. I am not crazy about the taste of ground beef, but all these toppings made the burger amazing and they melted together well to form the perfect saucy/cheesy burger experience. I will have a hard time choosing next time I go as I think I would want this burger every time..but there are so many others to try as well. This is mostly a take out place, and they offer online ordering. We chose to eat in, but if you want to do that you should probably get there a little earlier or a little later than a typical lunch rush. They take credit cards using the cube system and I thought prices were reasonable for the size and gourmet-ness of the burgers.

Great burger joint! Atmosphere is very casual yet quaint and sheik. I had the Lion Tamer burger, which was awesome. The fries tasted homemade with a great, subtle seasoning. My son (age 11) had a basic cheeseburger and said it was the best he ever had (he is the expert). He also had the fried mac and cheese but did not like them. For dessert (of which we had no room for) we managed to squeeze in some fried oreos (Dr.s orders). OMG the best dessert ever! Next time we are going to have the dessert first YOLO! The service was awesome too. Couldn't have asked for a friendlier staff (espectally the guy from Wisconsin)! This place is a must!!! - Rhode Island girl

If I could give 3.5 I would... In my opinion there was nothing special about this burger joint except for the freak show/circus theme. I got the Blue Cyclops which was crumbled blue cheese, bacon, jalapeno ranch, and LTO. The burger was just ok. I am a fan of blue cheese, but not when it is really pungent. The blue cheese on the Blue Cyclops was definitely pungent, almost to the point that I wanted to scrape it off. There was also something else that was off about the burger but I couldn't put mu finger on it. I ate the whole thing, so it really wasn't that bad, it just wasn't that great. I will give them credit for using fresh, crispy bacon instead of that cheap microwaveable stuff. Props are also due for their sweet potato fries with the cinnamallow dip. That dip was delish. This place would be good if I didn't have so many amazing burger options in Broward. I'd much rather go to Rosie's or Rok:Brgr again than come back to The Burger Freak.

I knew when I ordered a burger for takeout that I shouldn't expect anything extravagant. With that being said, order "for here" not "to go". The Yang and Dang burger was nothing significant, the fries/onion rings weren't memorable either. Since it was take out, the burger was soggy. So my review is mostly on the fact that there weren't a ton of flavors in my burger or my husband's. In the off chance I do come back, I will absolutely eat in the restaurant. So that's all I can offer to you right now.

As some friends and I were having some beers at a nearby brewery we decided to make the evening a 'cheat meal' night. We yelped burgers and Burger Freak came up with some pretty outstanding reviews. We decided to give it a try. Upon pulling into the parking lot we almost changed our minds, boy am I glad we didn't! We were welcomed with kindness and assistance on ordering! We were even treated to cold 'beverages' not offered on the menu The guy at the register was a delight and Clint was beyond hospitable! I ordered the Yang and Dang and it was well worth the cheat! My friends were also very pleased with their burgers, wings and fries (fresh cut and sweet potato). Oh yeah and the chili cheese fries! It was kinda warm in the restaurant so Clint got us a fan and then he brought us desert on the house! Fried Oreos and brownie bites!! Absolutely delicious! They certainly know how to treat their guests and the food was outstanding! This will certainly be my new burger spot! A must try!! And they deliver......Bonus!!!

This place is burger paradise, if there were more than 5 stars they would deserve them all. I had a turkey burger with sweet potato fries (all things that are usually hard to find- especially at a good price) and it was DELICIOUS. My boyfriend went the traditional route with a bacon cheeseburger and fries and ate every last bite. Definitely a hidden gem. GO NOW!

I kept meaning to try Burger Freak but every time I would think of it, they were closed. So I finally caught them open on Sunday for a few hours. I ordered online to pick up and was very impressed with how easy it was to order from there. Very friendly service when I walked in. I killed some time waiting looking at their Wall of Shame (check my pictures) and checking out the general circus theme The burgers were very good, but not something I would say was the best I ever had, which is why I gave 4 stars. The fries were delicious, not soggy, not too crispy. We topped it off with a couple of the fried Oreos...so so good. Imagine funnel cake with powered sugar surrounding a yummy Oreo. I would go back but I think they could definitely improve on their burgers

Sorry no pic installed, will get you guys next time. However please believe me when I say this place is legit. Of course their delivery young and energetic, but their to-go wait staff I find to be friendly and willing to accommodate (old school). This place has great burgers (of course title) but their wacky wings are out of control. I always order this at lease twice a week and can't get enough. You have to give this place and its people a shot and see for yourselves. Their fries are amazing and their desserts ain't bad either. When it comes to the new generation of foodies, these young kids got it right.

the driver ate my food so it's friday night - decided to have a night with my love. we order from this place. spend $46 - and wait 2 hrs for raw meat and an incomplete order. my burger was raw. the philly steak has almost no steak! i posted the pic to prove it. my fries are not in the bag but the bag does have fries scattered on the bottom (i think the driver worked up an appetite walking to his car). so i call burger freak and the little girl who answered the phone put me on hold and said "well we close at 8." i replied with "i ordered at 6 (proved by grubhub)." she simply said "contact grubhub for a refund" and that was the end of that. if you like raw burgers and no-steak phillys, then this is your place. be warned - fries can be eaten on their way to you!

This place is in a seriously uncharacteristic location that you might never notice if you weren't looking for it. But if you miss this place then you're definitely missing out. The circus theme is pretty danged cute and all the burgers are named as such. I had the Tattooed Lady burger which was caramelized onions, sundired tomato pesto and provolone cheese. Sah good. The fries actually taste like potatoes! The staff was really friendly and happy to help us make our selections (so many to choose from). Also of note, they offer delivery! It's nice to have an option other than pizza or Chinese food.

Very delicious. It's a hole in the wall so you have to look for it but. Believe me when I say it was well worth the search. I literally "created a freak" burger and devoured it!

  • Jonathan M.

I decided to try this place out after finding out it was pretty close to my house. It's the definition of "a hole in the wall" and the decor might not be for everyone. I really don't care what the place looks like (as long as it's not dirty) and all that really matters would be the burgers. Their burger was really hefty and had double patties. I'm really more of a big fat single patty burger type of guy, though. Still, the meat was pretty tasty and wasn't overcooked. I can usually finish a burger but I barely had the room to finish this one after having onion rings and fries. The burger is really sloppy though so that might be a put off for some. All the stuff on it just starts melding together into a big soggy mess. Their onion rings were "ok" but I wasn't a fan. They are big, thick, greasy, and feel heavy. They'll put you into a food coma. Ehh, I'm not really crazy about going back. I can see people liking these burgers but it's not really my thing.

Great burgers and fry joint... The food is in the style of a state fair/festival... The fried Oreos are a fantastic way of adding sweet ending to a carnie meal... I would recommend Freak Show Burgers for a cheap cheat meal...

This has to be one of the best burgers in S. Florida. There are so many options...turkey burgers, veggie burgers, mushrooms, etc. I am a purist so I opt for the plain burger with American cheese and my friend usually opts for the mushroom swiss burger. The meat is well seasoned and cooked perfectly. The fries are delicious. The burgers are a good size so I can never eat all of them...even when ordering a small. The deserts really are sublime. Deep fried twinkies and oreos are so yummy! The guys working there are wonderful and makes the place inviting and fun. They even gave me an extra desert for my birthday! Who needs a chain like Five Guys when you can buy local and the food is better!

So delicious I don't know how they don't have 5 stars, I bring everyone I know here. So many creative & amazing burger combinations but if they don't have one you like, you can create your own! Freaky fries are my favorite I don't understand why every restaurant doesn't offer regular & sweet potato fries together as an option. The dip for the sweet potato fries is wonderful!!!! Fried Oreos are great too, and cheap! The service is also super amazing they have always been very eager to help me decide, try samples, add to my order, anything. Love it here if I could eat it every day & gain no weight I sureeee would.

Welcome to the most creative lunch/burger menu in Ft Lauderdale. Monday thru Friday, lunch only, burger joint serving up some creative creations with even better names for each of the delicious meaty treats. i.e. - The Ring Master, The California Horn Dog, The Human Cannonball, The Elephant Man & The Chelsea Charms Freak Burger... Catching onto the theme yet? Don't be intimidated by the names either... It took me almost 15 minutes to really decide which one to try. The Burger Freak has created some great burger combinations that a solid twist on the common "pub style" burgers. You know I'm not a huge fan of them either but around $6-$8, these really are worth the price of admission! I won't even hold back my rating: WELL-DONE Nothing fancy here... Pick your meat. Choose you bun. Select a "Freak Show". I really like how you can still select a Turkey Burger or Chicken Patty, even a Veggie patty and then have that made with any of the Freak Burgers. You're not locked into only a standard Veggie or Turkey Burger... The combinations are amazing. So I ordered The Spider Lady - Cilantro Lime Sour Cream, Smoked Mozzarella, Roasted Red Peppers & Grilled Onions. The combination really had me interested. The freshness of the cilantro lime sour cream is still lingering in my mouth as I type this... We had a few other orders as well... One of our newest members "Bump, Set, Spike" ordered The Tattoo Lady - Smoked Mozzarella, Crispy Bacon & Caramelized Onions with a Sun-dried Tomato Aioli. He really liked how the bun didn;t overshadow the burger. "Sometimes you get too much bread and not enough meat. This was perfect." Sgt. Sauce ordered himself the The Fire Eater - Fire Sauce, Pepper Jack Cheese, Chipolte Cream Cheese & Grill Hot Cherry Pepper Rings. (of course it was the burger with the most sauces on it...) it wasn't as hot as advertised, but he also substituted the Pepper Jack Cheese for Cheddar. The grilled peppers were great. But the star of the burger was the combination of Fire SAuce and Chipolte Cream Cheese. While we were there, we got a phone call to take a burger back to the office for a Sharing Our Leftovers addition from The Burger Doc - He also ordered The Spider Lady. He said, "excellent amalgam of flavors... Meat was good but didn't melt in your mouth. Probably better in the actual restaurant." So keep that in mind... This is mainly a To-Go Burger Joint. You always want them hot and fresh... But I think these will make the delivery wait well worth it! If you work in the Ft Lauderdale area... Right off I-95 7 Cypress (actual corner of McNabb & Powerline) - The Burger Freak is a MUST!!!!

This place just lost our business. We will never order from them again. They told us it would be a 45 minute wait even though we are located 2 miles away from them. I spent my entire break waiting in the lobby for them to show up, which they never did. My co-workers and I called to see what happened to our food and they thought we were looking to get free food which was obviously not the case. About 1:20 after I placed the order, the delivery driver called me saying he doesnt even work for Burger Freak and that they just threw him all these orders and ours was the last one, and then he asked if he should still come upstairs. WTF come on Burger Freak you've got to do better. You guys have good food but your customer service sucks! UPDATE* The delivery driver texted me last night hours after this happened saying "damn i was trying to be real with u and trying to get you free food and you go and put me out like that." Wow, real professional.

I've ordered from Burger Freak once before and had a good experience. The freak Fries are great and so are their Chicago Dogs... in fact, I just gave them a rave review via Facebook when I placed my order today. But I guess I should have waited til my food was ACTUALLY delivered because it was 30 minutes later than Grub Hub indicated and the fries and hot dogs were ice cold. Even the soda was barely cool. This tells me that I was somehow last on the delivery list or it had sat in the driver's car much too long. The brown bag carrying it had also soaked through and everything was breaking out of the bottom (again, all signs point to it being in the car too long out for delivery). After paying $20 for two dogs, fries & a coke (food plus $7.50 in tips and delivery fees), it was all rather inedible today. An hour and a half is WAYYYYYYY too long to wait for 2 hot dogs and fries. Beware if you're ordering "within their delivery area" and what that may mean for the temperature and timeliness of your deliver. Today was a terrible day for Burger Freak!

I got the lion tamer burger, chili cheese fries & fried mac & cheese. My husband got the yang & dang burger & da Chicago dog. I want to say it was good, but it was very average & I had to keep swiping away the flies from our food. It was soo hot inside, it seemed like there was no AC. The floors were dirty & I left feeling like I was going to get sick the next day. We won't be back.

If you are looking for a food truck experience in a traditional storefront, here is your dream. The circus theme, gourmet burgers with themed out names, and carnival desserts all recall the type of things you find in those food trucks (which I must say, I love food trucks). I ordered the standard burger, called the Lion Tamer. It has cheese, lettuce, red onion, pickle, and Freak sauce (delicious, sorta-sweet mayoish thousand islandish sauce), and I added bacon to mine. I got the single patty version, and it was a substantial burger, sure to satisfy most. It was delicious - one of the best local burgers for sure. The sauce's flavor worked well with the classic burger ingredients, and the patty was perfectly prepared. I am eager to try more burgers from them! My wife ordered the Philly Freak, which is their version of the Philly cheesesteak. It wasn't bad, but it was a little bland, especially considering the pop of flavor that the buger had. Maybe it's my fault for getting a non-burger at a place called Burger Freak, but there you have it. The fries were seasoned skillfully - enough to be savory, but not so much that it overpowers the taste. These aren't exactly like the excellent Five Guys or Burger-Fi fries, but they are still great. The large is more than enough for two to share, unless you have ginormous appetites. We also sampled the dessert, which for us was deep fried Oreos. Delicious! They are coated with powered sugar, but are not served with icing dip, as DFOs often are. I didn't miss the icing much, but my wife would have liked some. The service was wonderful - friendly, knowledgeable, and fast. This place is an excellent choice - it's tucked away and iffy-looking on the outside, but go in and order, burger lover. You owe it to yourself!

Delicious!! And I'm stuffed! I ordered the fortune teller and it was just as delicious as it sounded! Crumbled bacon layered the bottom and a fried egg covered the top!! PERFECTION! I finished it off with an order of fried Oreos that were DEVILISHLY GOOD! I'll definitely go back

Just finished dinner delivered by Burger Freak and it was gr8!!! The burger was perfectly cooked, the amount of add on selections large. The sauces superb! I am a "dipper" so I ordered the house sauce, garlic aoli, and cilantro sour cream...all wonderful! The only thing I had an issue with was what they termed natural cut fries which I assumed was fresh cut fries. They were not but that was my fault for assuming! Highly recommend this place. They delivered 1 meal at no charge...all extra bonus!

Burger freak is OK at the best. I ordered a turkey ringleader on a whole wheat bun with fries and a drink. My total was $13.95 for delivery including tip which is definitely a steal! The reason burger freak didn't get 5 stars out of me is lack of flavor. It's tolerable to an extent but I couldn't finish my burger or fries because it just wasn't tasty. The only thing that helped with the burger flavor was the bacon which is actually good. Otherwise, the burger tasted like freezer meat. I'm not sure if their beef is fresh but I can assure you that the turkey is not. This place does have potential and a nice variety but poor execution. The food came semi-warm and the drink came cold. Delivery took about 45 minutes and I'm 0.3 miles down the street. Maybe I'll try a beef burger next time (if there is a next time) but I honestly don't recommend the turkey burger. They have a lot of great sounding menu options which may taste good but the food needs some work.

Great food best prices amazing people that work there what else can you ask for. If you want a meal that u will die for you need to try the two headed man. The burger freak is the best burger joint in town.

The burger was delicious, the sides were good too. I had the one with crispy salami, I forgot the name, highly recommend it! The service was great too. The plaza where it is located was iffy.

Tried this place because of Yelp and so glad I did! My husband had a beef burger on a white brioche bun with garlic mojo aoili sauce and I had a veggie burger on a honey wheat bun. My husband said it was the best burger he's had in Florida and my veggie burger was excellent. Worth a trip!

Like any good sideshow, The Burger Freak demands your attention and won't let you look away. All burgers are cooked on the well side, so meat snobs might want to pass on this hole in the wall. They earn points for letting you choose your bread and the extensive sauce menu is a plus. Freak sauce is good for lovers of russian or thousand island dreasing. You can choose among several excellent options of "signature" burgers, or you can build your own. Like Five Guys, all toppings are free. There's also signature dogs and cheesesteaks, as well as a few other items. Staff seems willing to help. Seating is very limited. But the burgers are good and worth the price of admission.

Great burgers, Went with the wolf man. My lady went with the portobello. I do not understand why someone would go to a chain when you have this sort of quality as an option. Very friendly, great taste in music. De la Soul's De La Soul is dead was scoring our order.

I bothered my boyfriend for a good 24 hours about going to this place while we were in the area for a few day get away. I am so happy I did, this is The Perfect Lunch Spot. Quick, small and amazing. If your too good for greasy food then stay away because you won't appreciate this place. But this is what I need in my life and I'm glad I made it there!

  • Geoff K.

Rather hit-or-miss, in that one day your order is perfect, and the next you get delivered a rubbery insole of a patty. I'll recommend going inside, ordering carefully by double-checking, and checking your food before walking out. You may regret otherwise.

  • Catie W.

This place is overwhelming with AWESOMENESS! The burgers are so unique and the options are limitless. The friendly people who worked there gave great recommendations. Our burgers were cooked perfectly. While we were eating, the people who worked there kept checking on us and even let us make some song recommendations to play in the restaurant. Definitely our new favorite burger joint! Oh... And did I mention the nice guy who worked there gave us free fried Oreos at the end of our meal, complements of the chef! Service and food were exceptional! We will definitely be back.

Looked at the reviews prior to going, however I was highly disappointed. My medium order came out well done, lack of flavor led me to BUY barbecue sauce (since it isn't free). That's a first and last for me.

The food os to die for!! Great environment, new business for these guys, but so far so good, sweet potato fries are to die for, and that secret sauce goes well with the fries. And this...this is going to blow your mind....it's a fried Oreo doughnut....mouth watering, if your looking for a great burger spot that provides you with endless burger options than this is the place for you!!!!

If you don't know where this place is, you will miss it. My wife and I were on vacation and we wanted to try something different. We found this place via Urbanspoon and it's a home run! We were skeptical because of its location and outward appearance but this is a perfect example to not judge a book by its cover. The guys there are super friendly, the burgers are fantastic (we got the lion tamer) and the circus theme is well done....all the way down to their sandwich names. We have a few more days here and will DEFINITELY be coming back. Amazing to say the least.

My brother and I ordered two burgers "well done" from Burger Freak tonight, a Ring Leader and a Fire Eater. I have ordered from this place several times and usually don't have any issues. I believe there is new management from a year ago. THE BURGERS WERE RAW! If there was something below rare - That's what they were! I spoke with the manager whose name is Jordan and he said if I bring them to him and they are what I say they are then he will refund me or give me a voucher for two burgers. In which I had no problem doing so but I was at work and could not leave again since my lunch hour ended. He sent his driver to get them since I was only about 5 minutes away. Jordan called me back and said "I looked at these burgers and they were nowhere near raw; they were more Medium" then offered me half off next time I order. This was a slap in the face!! This guy pretty much challenged my integrity and totally disrespected me by even saying this! If they were nowhere near what I was saying then why would he even offer me half off? I told him to "Take his half off and stick it!" - Might have been a bit rude, but I was pretty upset. I work for a company with maybe about 600 employees and our building is about 5 minutes away, there are hundreds of us that order out for lunch on a daily basis. I WILL NEVER ORDER FROM THIS PLACE AGAIN!! I WILL ALSO TELL EVERY SINGLE PERSON I RUN INTO AT WORK ABOUT MY EXPERIENCE AND HIGHLY RECOMMEND AGAINST ORDERING FROM HERE!!!!

  • Todd F.

I don't see how anyone could like this place. It was dirty. I ordered a burger to go when I got back to work, after waiting 20 minutes for the burger to be prepared, I unwrap a piece of garbage. The burger was overcooked and the bun was burned beyond recognition. Totally inedible. Will never go back

Every now and then you find a sweet little spot that you just don't want to share ...this is it. Service was great as was the food. Had the Cyclops, Ring Leader, and Philly Cheese steak. Added the sweet potato fries and fried oreos. Everything was very good.

  • Nicole P.

Been wanting to try this place for a while and I'm definitely glad we did. We got two of the blue cyclops burgers and a large fry with a side of the freak sauce. The burgers were delicious, and the fries with the sauce were amazing as well.

The selection of burger specials is genius. The ambience is misfit-cool and the quality is off the charts. We choose 2 burgers and shared and even though they were totally different flavors it is impossible to decide which was better. Creative, friendly, and expeditious. A+ top notch 5 stars!

A party of 10 of us decided to try this place out last night being it was given almost 5 stars. When we arrived, the appearance of the outside Mini-mall was not to friendly looking but we decided to try it anyway. I do not know how this place is not given 5 stars by everyone who goes here. As soon as we arrived, the staff saw how big of a group we had and immediately made a space for us to sit. Not only was the staff very friendly but the food that we ordered was out in less than 15 minutes. The man that took our order was right on and did not mess up with any of the orders (again a party of 10). When we received our food, the taste of everything was a 10 in my eyes! !! All of the food tasted very fresh and was prepared perfectly by the chefs. I am from nj, and i believe that there freaksteak is better than the traditional cheesesteak in philly. So if you are looking for some great service and great tasting food, I suggest you try this place. Don't let the appearance on the outside determine whether you try this place. The food is awesome!!!!

Coworkers have recommended this spot near my office and I finally joined them this past week. They don't have much seating inside - 3 or 4 small, round tables - and they were occupied so we took our burgers to go. They have a nice variety of interesting burgers with different toppings. I had a Yang and Dang which is a cheeseburger with portobello mushrooms, caramelized onions, Swiss cheese and teriyaki mayo. It was very tasty! Also had the natural cut fries and a soda, and it came to about $10. Service was fast and experience all around was pretty darn good! I will visit burger freak again.

If your looking for a juicy burger with unique flavors, you need to come check this place out. I finally came out to try it and it was delicious, I am definitely coming back to try all the other different combinations. I had the fire eater, which was very spicy for me but the chipotle cream cheese in it was so worth it I couldn't put it down. We also had the two headed man which had a hot dog in the burger and the hot dog tasted great, I can't wait to try one of their hotdogs. So needless to say it's a must try, awesome service also makes a great burger joint even better. You can't get better service than that, also try one of their fried oreos, your gonna wish you hadn't!

A co-worker and I are on a quest for South Florida's best cheeseburger. The Burger Freak, near where we work, was our latest venture. It's located in a small corner lot on Powerline Road and seems somewhat out of place next to 7-11. It has room for about three or four parties on the inside and two tables on the outside. In other words, it's banking on serving pick-up and delivery orders. I kept it simple. I had a cheeseburger with cheddar cheese, ketchup, mustard, mayo, with fries and a can of root beer soda. The burger is fairly large. It had a juicy flavor and the bun was fresh. I asked for medium, and got medium-rare. I won't say it was the best burger I had, but I'll probably return from time to time. It was, you know, okay. I would recommend giving it a chance.

Great place to eat, always get a bearded lady with funnel cake for dessert. The only negative is that I moved away and no longer work in the area so I can no longer have this for lunch :(

  • Kim V.

This was our first trip and it was totally worth it ! I had the Tatooed Lady and the bacon was crisp, burger was perfectly cooked and delicious and the Freak sauce is great! We tried onion rings and sweet potato fries and both were tasty and large orders. After dinner we tried the fried Oreos. Warm and gooey. We will come back !

Excellent burger for the money. Plenty of choices for every person to enjoy and even create your own. Also has healthier choices like salads and great desserts for those with a sweet tooth. Fried Oreos are delicious!

This is one of my favorite cheat meal spots! I've ordered delivery from Burger Freak on several occasions. I love the online ordering option. The food arrives quickly and the order is always correct. I love the creative menu and the unique sauces. Try the FREAK SAUCE! It is amazing! The fries taste freshly cut and are nicely seasoned. Make sure you treat yourself to an order of FRIED OREOS! You won't be disappointed!

I went here entirely based on the Yelp reviews. I really wanted to like this place especially because most of its negative reviews were primarily due to the meat being undercooked. Since I prefer rare meat, I figured that should not be a problem. So I went and order just the "Fire Eater" to go. At $7.36 for just the burger, I thought that was a little steep for a little, whole-in-the-wall place. But, I'd gladly pay that for a burger if it was really good. Unfortunately it wasn't. First, the burger was **WAY** over cooked, even though I had ordered it medium rare. I'm talking cardboard here -- completely devoid of any juice or grease. I noted that on my receipt there was no mention of "medium rare." So, the cooks had no idea about my instructions. I wonder if they don't bother to cook to order or if all of their burgers get cooked until they're dry and rubbery. If that wasn't bad enough, the topping on the burger were ridiculously bad. The burger had lots of "hot cherry peppers" on it that hadn't been drained at all from their vinegar-based brine. So, basically, my burger tasted like a spicy piece of cardboard that had been soaked in the most acidy vinegar ever -- the pucker factor was over the top. Maybe I caught them on a bad day or maybe the "Fire Eater" is made for people who are huge fans of Sour Patch Kids, but my burger certainly didn't match up to experience other Yelper had this restaurant.

  • Joseph A.

Burgers are amazing, prices are great! The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was that I would take out next time, no table serve, no plates( not even paper) staff was all hanging around talking right behind us. Hope this place gets big enough for a dining room because the food is that good!!!!!!!

  • Decent T.

Hole in the wall, when you walk in everyone was really professional clean establishment that was very good. I love yelp. Just go here and eat their burgers

It pays to travel a little off the beaten path! Burger Freak is a burger joint elevated. The burgers and homemade sauces were excellent. The fries, sweet and French, with the marshmallow dipping sauces were delicious. While there are just a few tables the service was so outstanding they were quickly cleaned and it was no problem. We'll be back soon...

This little burger joint smokes the more popular burger chains out of the water. They have unique burgers rather than the standard you find at most places! TRY THE FREAK SAUCE!!

I was looking for something "new" close to my work and came across this Yelp listing and decided to give it a shot as it seemed to get some great reviews. I was not disappointed at all. The Snake Charmer burger was cooked to perfection (medium rare) and the sweet potato fries were awsome too. I give it 2 thumbs up and will go back soon.

  • Bruce K.

Best burger joint around! Looking forward to seeing them in lots of other locations.

    (5)
  • Laura W.

Really outstanding burger. Fresh, creative options and huge portions at a reasonable price. The counter service was friendly & helpful in sorting through the many options. I just would add that it is more of a takeout place as they have few tables & when we went in July no discernible air conditioning. The "circus theme" is really just the wallpaper & menu options. Just be aware that their market is less family/kids & more locals/hipsters.

  • Dana J.

New to the area and been Yelping a lot of places that I choose to eat. Friend and I went here, and we were not disappointed by the food!! I got a build your own burger, with my favs, sautéed O, GP & M, with L & T...It was yummmmmmmy!! The fries were good. The owner was nice and we spoke for a bit. I would have liked to see a bigger dining room, if that is what ya want to call it, and maybe some trays for eat in(instead of bagged food even though we said we would eat there...cause bagged food, when ya say you want to eat there is always a way of saying "leave", at least to me)

I purchased the Groupon for The Burger Freak and am so glad I did! I would have never found it otherwise. It's a small whole in the wall with a cute circus theme. Unfortunately it's location isn't the greatest, on the corner of Powerline Rd right next to a pawn shop and 7-11. You can create your own burger or pick from a large selection of combinations. My brother had the spider lady and I created my own. The burger was awesome! Made fresh, juicy, with great seasonings. I would recommend getting the honey oat wheat kaiser bun, so tasty! The fries were also very good. I am definitely going to be going back soon.

This place was kind of hard to find but it was worth it. It's off to the side in a Plaza. It's very small but clean. The burger was so good. It was actually a combination of a burger and a chicken sandwich on a bun. You get such a variety of toppings. Everything was fresh. They even had deep fried oreos which were delicious. The staff was really nice and attentive .highly recommend this spot. It's my new place when I want a good burger or good chicken sandwich.

After getting a recommendation from a friend, my husband and I had a great lunch at The Burger Freak. The circus theme is fun and they have so many topping combinations to choose from. I really liked that I was able to choose the type of burger I wanted and they type of bun - or no bun, if you prefer. I had a turkey burger on a Honey Oat Wheat Kaiser bun and chose the Spider Lady combination of toppings. My husband had a beef burger on the same type of bun with the Human Cannonball combo and we both had fries. Now, I have to take a minute and say that the bun was one of the best I have ever had at a burger joint. It was soft, but not mushy and absorbed the flavors of the various toppings. I usually try not to eat the bun when I have a burger, but I couldn't stop eating it! Both of us were satisfied with the meal and I think it is far and away better than 5 Guys. My husband was excited to have a new go-to lunch place since it's so close to his office. I will say that there are literally 4 tables inside and I didn't see anywhere on the website where it said there was limited seating. I know I would have been upset if we had nowhere to sit and time was ticking away. Also, the girl at the front counter didn't seem too enthused to be there, but it didn't really take away from our experience. And it's really well hidden inside of the 7-11 plaza, but luckily I found that bit of info on their site. Give this place a try!

Got here 20 minutes before they closed & wasn't rushed. Got a double burger with a fried egg on it & shared an order of freak fries (1/2 regular & 1/2 sweet potato). Ordered it medium & came out perfect. Very juicy & seasoned well. I've recommended this to many & they've all had a great experience.

  • Sam R.

This was our first time trying the burger freak. We were actually on the way to 5 Guys and decided to give it a try. The seating in this place was darn near none. There are 3 double tables and several people walked out because there was nowhere to sit. They brought our burgers out in a bag, since the unfriendly hipster chick didn't ask if we were dining in or out. Burgers were decent, fries were limp and soggy. When I asked for some salt and pepper, the unfriendly register hipster chick went to the back, got a sauce cup and then poured me some salt in the cup. Probably good burgers for catering when ur expectations aren't so high.

Great burger joint! Each burger is made to order so ingredients are very fresh! New ownership with friendly workers. They also have great desserts. My fave burger is the Ring Leader on ciabatta bread..definitely worth a try and reasonably priced :)

Found this place on my way home. The topping selection is large and very good. The food was very fresh. I got the veggie burger and while it was small the rest of the burger made up for it. I am going back for the fried oreos and fried twinkie. Great staff.

  • Ignacio C.

Best burger I've ever eaten. Large variety of toppings and burgers to choose from each with its own unique concept. I loved the Human Cannonball it was hands down the most delicious thing I've eaten in a long time. Awesome Staff. And these people were smart enough to start deep frying their oreos. Definitely coming back.

The burger was juicy, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. Toppings were fresh and bread nicely toasted. A little far from my house, but if it were closer I would be back!

well folks, it is serious in here. Burgers are great- thick, fried patties. The freak nasty, or something like that, their specialty was delicious Very fresh toppings, the buns are incredible. Good fries. Small and divey, but I will be back for the burgers (probably, quite a few times). Worth the drive.

    (4)
  • Tana O.

So delicious!!! I got the tattoo lady on the wheat bun with the turkey patty. It was so full of flavor. Sometimes turkey patties can be dry but not this one. I will definitely be back...and will probably order the same thing. My husband got the snake charmer and loved his too.

  • Beth Z.

Had the grilled hot dog which was grilled perfectly and presented on a toasted sandwich roll. The onion rings and were hot and crispy and most delicious. The only negative was the gal at the front, who looked totally bored and did not smile at all. She was not familiar with the menu and could not answer my questions about what came with the hot dog, so aI ordered it plain! I think management should get some new help to brighten up the place.

    (4)
  • Kara K.

Loved the burgers! The meat was fresh, seasoned, juicy and done the way we requested. The variety of sauces, toppings and options is huge. We will definitely be back! Not a place to eat at if you have a group of more than 4 people because the seating is very limited. Great place for a really good burger!

  • Dave R.

We're on to my third review for Burger Freak after the new owners suggested I come back. I stuck with the turkey burger and found the taste familiar. Good job by the new guys bringing back the old turkey patties. Overall I can't say anything bad about the place and I'll probably work to bring co-workers back with me for lunch from time to time. Plus I still want to take a run at the $35 burger challenge.

We ordered lunch delivered, 2 burgers and a small onion ring. I ordered at 11:30 am on a Tuesday and lunch was not delivered until 1:20 pm and that was after I had called at 1pm to find out where our food was - 2 hour delivery time is not acceptable as I had to go into a meeting and had to wolf my food down. Their excuse was that they just re-opened today under new ownership. That is when they should shine not make a first time customer wait 2 hours for an $8 burger that was cold and soggy by the time I got it. I ordered the Yang & Dang Burger and my co-worker ordered the Spider Lady, we were not impressed, not as flavorful as either of us anticipated. Owner made no attempt to make up for 2 hour wait. Will pass on this one in the future.

I can't speak to eating in the restaurant but delivery from Burger Freak? Never again. I called to check on my delivery and I received a snarky answer... "like I said, 45 minutes to an hour". An hour an a half later I call and I'm put on hold for over 10 minutes. Finally, the food shows up cold. Sucks to be them, they just lost the big corporate business. Burger Fail is more like it.

My mom had a Groupon for Burger Freak so I went along with her to try it out. The burgers are awesome. The place is kind of hard to find but once you do find it its well worth it. The inside has this crazy wallpaper that has old Ringling brothers circus pics all over it, with elephants and strong men on it. So when you look at the menu all you will see is burgers and lots of them ( theres too many to list or remember). You can also create your owm burger however you want it. Also they allow you to "Freak" your burger which is basically taking two hamburger patties and sealing them up with american cheese in the middle just like a Juicy Lucy. I had the Two Headed Man which is a 6 ounce angus beef patty with American cheese and a hotdog on top with lettuce, tomato, and their freak sauce. It was super delicious and sloppy at the same time. Once you pick it up you need to commit to eating it before it falls all over the place. Over all it was a great burger and I liked it very much and hope to go back.

We received flyers in our office lobby for The Burger Freak and decided to go for lunch. We were all very pleased with our selections, and the taste of all the burgers. However, the plaza it is located in, is a bit run-down & their air condition did not work. This wasn't a deal breaker, I do plan on dining again!

I think the burger freak is an awesome place. They just changed ownership and looks like they are going in the right direction by changing the menu and adding carnavl food fried Oreo. The turkey burger is to die for if your a healthy eater.
